Okay, we've been home in Edmonton for almost an hour now, and it feels damn good. France was an interesting experience and Port Vendres was beautiful, though terrifying to drive in, but... wow... it feels great being home and great being treated with this daily kindness from shop keepers and strangers. I've missed it so much. And I've missed my cats so, so, so very much. I have a feeling that I'm going to have four cats in my bed tonight, when I get to bed as soon as I've written this.

Anyway, most importantly, I have so many ideas swirling around in my head about Henry and his first field research project back in 1973. He is a very special and interesting person to write about and I'm sure that you all will enjoy him thoroughly. During the weeks we've been gone there hasn't been any writing done at all. Henry was quite demanding in the beginning, but now he's just waiting in the background, letting me get to him in my own pace, which is nice, since he's not really the patient type. There will also be another person of great interest from whose perspective we will get to follow the event. Scarlett will get more to say from her own point of view than I had thought about from the beginning, which should be of great interest for a certain Jeannette who has created that character. (Yes, my fans has the opportunity to ask for a character that will appear in the books).

Allie has started to talk to me too about book four, which feels great. I have the beginning of it poking at me in my mind, which means - as I talked about, loosely, a month ago or so - that I might write the two books simultaneously.

The Dog Days Doldrum was a nice experience and I hope that you all got some great reads from there. Too bad if you didn't. There were so many great books to chose from. You know, sometimes indie authors are bestsellers in disguise. Just saying...

Anyway, it's time to go to bed for me and my cats. My children and my husband are already sleeping and me and the cats are peacefully surrounding the computer.

Sleep tight. I know that I will.

It’s interesting how characters work when you’re writing about them. In ‘Of Darkness Born’, I kind of introduced a Field Researcher named...
